| Network Vulnerability Assessment:
This service can include a network security policy audit, a physical network vulnerability assessment, and penetration testing. You can choose which or all of these services will meet your individual needs. No matter which service you choose, they can each be applied to laws such as SB1386 , HIPAA , and Sarbanes-Oxley .
A security vulnerability assessment is a comprehensive discovery, auditing and reporting of your security practices. Using our expertise in securing networks, social engineering and identifiable vulnerabilities, we are capable of identifying your network's weaknesses. We also provide a review of your current policies to determine your areas of weaknesses.
Upon completion of a network security audit, we provide a comprehensive report, which details all of our actions/methods and the results of our findings. Using that report as a base line, we can then offer a cost effective and robust solution.
The solution can widely vary, depending on current user policy, equipment policy, security devices and or appliances. Each network is unique, as are our customer's needs.
Penetration testing can be performed to raise awareness of security risk and to simulate real-world attacks.
It has been our experience that corporations are reluctant to spend money on the security of their IT infrastructure because it is thought that there is very little return on the investment. This could not be further from the truth. Monies invested in securing your network will yield many unrealized benefits in user productivity, data security and management and litigation avoidance.
However, in the wake of SB1386 , HIPAA , and Sarbanes-Oxley, don't wait until an intrusion occurs to realize that your security is inadequate, or until a disgruntled employee has damaged or compromised your confidential data. The costs after the event are often 5 to 7 times greater than the cost of preventative maintenance. It's not a matter of “will my network be compromised?” it's simply a matter of “when” and how much damage is done. Allow us to help.
How We Accomplish This:
Phase One:
The first phase in a Vulnerability test is a discovery phase involving the target of the test. This discovery uses industry standard tools to explore the external address(es) of the target to determine any weakness. Once a weakness is determined, a (CVE) Common Vulnerability Exposure will be attached to that weakness. This vulnerability exposure is the actual method that an attacker would use to gain access into a closed network.
Phase Two:
The second phase in a Vulnerability test is an internal discovery, which includes assessment, analysis and deployment of management tools. This phase is critical in evaluating the current capabilities of the network. Once the network assets are known, recommendations for improvement can be recognized as well as the deployment of management tools and reporting options.
Phase Three:
The final phase in the Vulnerability testing is the reporting and documentation of all discovered events. This is the cornerstone of understanding as it relates to the targeted network. This documentation will provide the management with the knowledge needed to make effective decisions to assist in providing maximum return on investment.
Network Maintenance Service:
DataClues is proud to offer a comprehensive monthly network maintenance service agreement. This service is perfect for the corporate environment that cannot justify a full time network administrator, but needs network maintenance to keep things running smoothly.
In our experience, it is very common for smaller corporations to put very little thought into their networks. A network is simply created, and things are added to it as time goes on or corporate needs change. Typically there is an employee that is referred to as the “computer guy or gal” that keeps the network going. This type of environment leads to absolute disaster. This disaster can come in the form of data loss, equipment failure, a terminated employee or a physical disaster such as a fire.
DataClues can assess your current network, recommend changes, hardware upgrades, security upgrades, policy placement and a variety of other options to keep your network running smoothly.
We accomplish this by setting your network up for remote management and a monthly visit. The remote management allows us to respond immediately to any need that may arise in the office that needs to be dealt with now, not when an appointment can be made. The monthly visit allows us to answer questions and perform hardware and software maintenance.
DataClues has the experience needed to meet the toughest of corporate demands, at a fraction of the cost of employing a network administrator. We encourage you to contact us for a consultation and let us show you how we can help. |
